Paula Abdul Charity Auction to Benefit American Humane's PAWS Program

Los Angeles, CA (Vocus) June 30, 2009

Auction Cause is teaming up with Paula Abdul on a unique eBay charity auction event starting June 29th, at 7 p.m. PST. Paula is cleaning out her many closets and listing thousands of designer items throughout the summer on eBay. Part of the auction proceeds will support the American Humane Association's Pets and Women's Shelters (PAWS)? program. Paula is the national spokesperson for this program, which works with domestic violence shelters to allow women to bring their pets with them. This enables them and their children to keep their pets safe as they make a major life change together.

"The PAWS Program is a critical way of providing a transition for abused women and children into a safer and better life," Paula said. "I feel privileged to be involved with this extremely important and necessary program."

Whatever your fashion preference, Paula will have it up for auction! Designer items include pants, jackets, suits and dresses from the likes of Dolce and Gabbana, Pucci, Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Zac Posen, St John, and more! "These clothes have been a joy to wear," said Paula. "But it's an even greater joy to pass them on and help a great cause at the same time!" Some of the items are brand new as well, with original tags.

Fans of American Idol should keep a look out for fashions she wore on the show as well. Additional pieces from red carpet events or other public appearances will also be available. Each item won will come with a thank you letter hand signed by Paula too.

"We are thrilled to give fans a once in a lifetime chance to own incredible fashion that belongs to Paula Abdul. Her style is legendary, and not everyone will have an opportunity to wear something very special," commented Eric Gazin, President of Auction Cause, the agency managing the sale on eBay.

The auction will take place at Paula's eBay store for the next few months, and new items will be added to the auction regularly. Please visit http://www.ebay.com/paulaabdul to get in on all the auction action, and sign up to be notified when the auctions begin. Benefits will also be going to Petco and the Guide Dogs of America.
