Art Works Downtown Announces New Exhibits and Wineries for October 14th Art Walk

Art Works Downtown has announced new art shows for its October 2nd Fridays Art Walk, an event that showcases over 25 art galleries, art studios and other participating venues who feature rotating art exhibits, wine, live music, food and other special attractions. For residents and tourists who are uninitiated in art, the 2nd Fridays Art Walk offers an excellent opportunity to easily experience art as well as enjoy local shopping and restaurants. October?s Art Walk is on Friday, October 14th, from 5-8pm.


New exhibits in October include:


Art Works Downtown: "Dia de los Muertos" exhibit ? Art Works Downtown?s popular Day of the Dead altar show! Live music and Mexican food! Also, in the back patio, Marin Handmade, a Northbay Etsy event.(from 3-8pm) and a reception in the Underground Gallery for Jenny Snodgrass.


Marin Jewelers Guild: "New Works" show and reception plus whimsical sculpture by Paul Loughridge.


Folk Art Gallery: Dia de los Muertos annual altar and folk art collection.


Room Gallery: Gail Weissman


Marin Arts Council: Reception for ?Asia Observed?


Terra Firma Gallery: Ceramics by Joe Winter Mixed Media Paintings by Chris Henry


Mountain View Winery Tasting Room: Grand Opening of Marin County?s newest Wine Tasting Room featuring the mixed media works by urbanscape artist, Deanna Fainelli in partnership with Terra Firma Gallery


The Jamie Clark Band will perform in the San Rafael Town Center Plaza.


Incorporated into the 4th season of the 2nd Fridays Art Walk is the Wine Tasting Experience. Over a dozen Art galleries offer wines to guests who have purchased tasting tickets. Tasting tickets are $ 20 for twelve (12) tastes or $ 10 for five (5) tastes. Some of the wineries featured in October include: Charles Creek, Kaz, Viansa, Glen Lyon, Mulas Family Winery, Arbios, Nicholson Ranch and Mountain View Winery.


The 2nd Fridays Art Walk event in Downtown San Rafael has continued to grow over the years and offers the public a free and dynamic cultural experience that features local establishments and local flavor.
